Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Carle Health. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiological procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiographic procedures by acquiring and processing patient exams in accordance with accrediting bodies and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Review cases with radiologists when necessary and review labs and patient history to ensure correct exam procedures.
  • Administer IV contrast and oral/rectal contrast as needed, recognizing and responding to any adverse reactions or allergic reactions.
  • Screen patients for pregnancy and perform pregnancy testing if applicable.
  • Review radiology orders for completeness and accuracy, taking steps to acquire additional information if needed.
  • Demonstrate acceptable imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and alignment.
  • Transfer and verify image data in PACS and provide necessary medical history and information for radiologist interpretation.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and workplace environment, including supply inventories and work area orderliness.
  • Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety, reporting safety events immediately.
  • Assist in instruction of students and new staff as necessary and may perform duties of Rad Tech Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology.
  • IEMA Radiography License in Illinois upon hire and Radiography (R)(ARRT) within 1 year.
  • Positive attitude and demonstrated willingness to assess and improve work environment.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow and technical procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative.
