Job Title: Building Inspector

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Inspector to join our team at Ad-vance Talent Solutions. As a Building Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations, conducting inspections, and reviewing plans to ensure safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections and/or review plans and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, and laws.
  • Ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code, Standard for Hurricane Resistance, and County Ordinances.
  • Inspect and review residential and commercial structures to ensure that the work being performed meets the minimum requirements of applicable codes and ordinances.
  • Assist and clearly communicate with the public, both orally and in writing, to explain Code and County policy questions.
  • Organize and plan daily routes to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain documentation associated with assigned inspection or plans examination activities.
  • Submit required daily reports and other written or oral presentations to the Division Manager.
  • Update inspection or plans examination results in the permit database.
  • Perform independent research and training on codes to ensure current knowledge of trends and developments in the field.
  • Schedule routine cleaning and scheduling of maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Provide excellent customer service to members of the general public and other County employees.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid FL driver's license with no more than 4 points
  • Drug screen required
