Job Summary:
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly qualified Trombone Professor to join our team at the College of Visual and Performing Arts. As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching individualized lessons and leading the Trombone Studio.
About the Position:
The successful candidate will teach Applied Trombone, provide leadership to the Trombone Studio, and coordinate recruitment, recitals, and juries. You will also participate in Brass Area initiatives and work with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Applied Trombone to students at the college level
- Provide leadership to the Trombone Studio, including coordination of studio classes, on-campus and off-campus performances, and events
- Coordinate recruitment for the Trombone Studio
- Coordinate recitals and juries for the Trombone Studio
- Participate in Brass Area initiatives
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Music or equivalent professional experience
- Successful experience teaching at the college level
- Desire to work with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds
- Established reputation as a professional artist with a documented portfolio of live performances and recordings
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Music
