Flatiron Construction Corp is in search of a skilled Senior Preconstruction Leader to oversee preconstruction initiatives for various projects, encompassing cost estimation, design enhancement, and client engagement during the bidding and preconstruction phases.
This role presents a remarkable opportunity to become part of a well-established and growing firm known for its successful delivery of award-winning projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project pursuits by collaborating closely with the proposal manager, lead estimator, business development manager, and project sponsor.
- Work alongside the Business Development team to pinpoint opportunities, suggest partnerships for project pursuits, and coordinate teams to prepare proposals within defined budgets and timelines.
- Develop and oversee pursuit timelines and deliverables, participating in all scheduling and proposal meetings to ensure comprehensive submissions.
- Analyze design schedules and construction plans to uncover cost-saving opportunities within contract specifications by adjusting quantities, estimating materials, or exploring alternative construction methods.
- Collaborate with design managers to formulate optimal technical solutions.
- Establish project-specific client management strategies, managing client expectations and communications in accordance with contract specifications and the Owner's needs.
- Work closely with engineers and estimators to formulate budgets and secure final bid prices for pursuits.
- Facilitate the transition between bidding and construction teams to ensure effective execution of construction plans and alignment with client expectations.
- Support the project management team with client relations during the initial phases of project construction as necessary.
- Maintain awareness of the company's values and strategic objectives.
- Execute additional tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in the construction industry related to project pursuits, including estimating and/or project management is required.
- Experience with alternative delivery methods is essential.
- Prior experience in heavy civil design-build project delivery is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of constructability and risk strategy interpretation.
- Proven leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Demonstrated experience in leading partnership and teaming agreements.
- Understanding of cost estimating practices, development, and implementation is crucial.
- Strong communication and organizational skills are required.
- A valid driver's license is mandatory.
