Oncology Research Nurse Position in Poughkeepsie, NY

We are seeking an experienced Oncology Research Nurse to join our team at Nuvance Health in Poughkeepsie, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of research subjects care during their trial participation, with a focus on screening, enrollment, and monitoring of patient candidates/participants.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct procedures related to screening, eligibility, consent, registration, patient education, and data collection for cancer clinical trials.
- Prepare and submit IRB documentation in a timely manner, including new trial approval, sponsor-submitted adverse events, annual updates, consent changes, and patient SAEs.
- Perform patient assessment and chemotherapy toxicity evaluation based on NCI CTCAE criteria for adverse events on treatment days and as needed.
- Collaborate with oncology physician practices and staff to ensure protocol compliance and scheduling of patient visits.
- Track and enter clinical data on all cancer patients as required, including active patients and those in follow-up in clinical trials.
- Participate in investigator and study initiation meetings, assist with scheduling, reviewing clinical trial outlines/content, and preparing for monitor visits/audits with regulatory agencies or sponsors.
- Provide education to staff on cancer clinical trials through in-services, written materials, and one-to-one interaction for each study, patient, and general marketing.
- Participate in oncology research meetings and multi-disciplinary case conferences.
- Identify potential patients for clinical trial eligibility.
- Demonstrate flexibility in daily routine and effectively accommodate the needs of the job.
- Fulfill all compliance and regulatory responsibilities related to the position.
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid RN License (CT or NY based on practice location)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Oncology nursing and chemotherapy/biotherapy administration knowledge, including current standardized cancer reporting criteria, performance status, adverse event grading, and tumor assessment.
- Minimum experience: three years; desired: certification in research.
- OCN-Oncology certified nurse and ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification desired.
- Sedentary/light effort; may exert up to 10 lbs. force.
- Generally pleasant working conditions.
