Diagnostic Sonographer PRN Job Summary

The diagnostic sonographer is a skilled professional qualified by academic and clinical training to provide patient services using diagnostic ultrasound under the supervision of a physician responsible for the use and interpretation of ultrasound procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient services using diagnostic ultrasound
  • Work under the supervision of a physician responsible for the use and interpretation of ultrasound procedures
  • May be involved with patients of physicians in any medical setting

Requirements:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification
  • Associate Degree in Ultrasound required
  • One year experience or training in diagnostic ultrasound in at least two specialty areas preferred
  • Registered Vascular Technician (RVT), or Vascular Sonography, or Registered Vascular Specialist must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
