About the Role

Cornell University is seeking a skilled Plumber to join our Facilities Management team. As a key steward of the University's facilities, you will be responsible for performing installation and maintenance on building and utilities distribution piping systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain piping systems for plumbing, pipefitting, and sprinklerfitter trade
  • Read and understand shop and field drawings/documents
  • Work in crawl spaces, attics, laboratories, and other confined areas
  • Inspect and repair high-pressure steam boilers
  • Deliver heavy materials to job sites
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in plumbing or related field
  • Membership in the local Plumbers Union or ability to join within 30 days
  • Valid US driver's license
  • Good customer relations, interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Apprentice certification
  • Experience maintaining and repairing high-pressure steam boilers
