Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at the University of California. The successful candidate will work in an interdependent role, implementing the Delegation of Services Agreement (DSA) to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the DSA to provide medical services consistent with education, training, and experience
  • Observe signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior, and physical condition to determine abnormal findings
  • Provide and coordinate care for oncology patients, including patient/family education and promotion of safe continuity of care
  • Participate in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provide education and support, and make appropriate referrals
  • Document services rendered
Requirements
  • Graduated from an accredited PA program
  • CA PA license and National Board Certification
  • BLS Certification from AHA or ARC
  • DEA required
  • 1-3 years of oncology experience as a physician assistant in outpatient and/or inpatient clinical setting
  • Previous experience with medication management preferred
  • Skill and communication theory and its applications in a healthcare facility
  • Skill in written and oral communication utilizing standard English grammar and vocabulary, as well as medical English
  • Skill in interviewing patients of different ages and cultures
  • Knowledge and skill to perform physician patient assessment through a standard physical examination
  • Detailed knowledge of laboratory test values such as CBC, urine analysis, and drug levels
  • Working knowledge of patient teaching
  • Knowledge of problem solving techniques
  • Knowledge and skill in using personal computer for patient care and information management
  • Knowledge of interdisciplinary resources needed to coordinate patient care and facilitate referral
  • Knowledge and skill in wound care and treatment
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing
  • Ability to read, interpret, apply, and follow physician orders, policies, procedures, and written/verbal instructions
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures and standards of care of UCLA Healthcare preferred
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical, and academic personnel
  • Skill in working independently and following through with minimum directions
  • Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner
Salary Range

$74.95-$100.86/hourly
