Receptionist Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Receptionist to join our team at Covenant Living Communities. As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for residents, staff, and visitors, providing a warm and welcoming experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and transfer calls as needed.
  • Monitor the emergency system, direct staff to emergent situations, and call emergency personnel as required.
  • Assist with daily continental breakfast setup, provide information to visitors, and ensure they are directed to the appropriate staff member.
  • Keep the reception desk and lobby clean and organized, and assist with clerical duties as assigned.
  • Facilitate life enrichment activities, drive residents to events, and sell postage stamps to residents and staff.
  • Monitor office equipment, report supply needs, and communicate with staff in urgent situations.
  • Balance the cash register and complete monthly charge sheets in accordance with procedure.
Requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • One year of secretarial training or clerical experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Active Illinois driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Pleasant personality and telephone voice.
  • Ability to remain calm in emergency situations and maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Interest in working with older adults.
