Role Summary

The Transportation Operations Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of our transportation services. This position is responsible for overseeing the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Allocating human resources effectively by aligning skills with tasks.
  • Creating work assignments and monitoring progress through detailed reports.
  • Addressing scheduling needs and resolving daily operational challenges.
  • Managing the vehicle fleet to ensure timely maintenance and service.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business or Logistics or equivalent experience.

Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a supervisory role within the passenger transportation sector.

Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with CCBDD and DODD regulations.
  • Experience in networking and collaborative efforts.
  • Background in working with Developmentally Disabled and Senior populations.
  • Knowledge of Direct Support Professional (DSP) practices.
  • Experience in passenger transport.
  • CPR/First Aid, DRIVE, and DODD training are advantageous but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of over 20 operational staff members.
  • Oversee fleet logistics and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Handle human resources tasks including hiring, training, and staff development.
  • Foster a positive work environment and uphold high standards of customer service.
  • Network with clients and agency contacts to enhance community relationships.
  • Administer vehicle policies and manage incident reporting.
  • Provide support to operational staff in various capacities.
  • Oversee operational performance management systems.
  • Act as a resource for transportation operations.
  • Maintain accurate filing, reporting, and documentation as required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to pass a physical examination without restrictions.

  • Capacity to maneuver a wheelchair safely over short distances.
  • Ability to navigate within a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
  • Physical agility to bend, crouch, and kneel as necessary.
