POSITION SUMMARY
The Receiver is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of the storeroom. Responsibilities include managing freight and UPS shipments, ensuring the orderly delivery or storage of incoming materials, and packaging and shipping service orders and non-conforming items promptly. The role also involves picking parts for work orders, sub-assemblies, and floor stock, conducting cycle counts, and maintaining organized documentation. A clean and safe work environment is essential, and a proactive approach to learning is crucial.
Essential Functions
- Arrive at the facility punctually, well-groomed, mentally alert, and physically prepared for work.
- Scan and verify all received products against packing slips.
- Coordinate the flow of products to the production floor.
- Utilize forklift skills to load and unload trailers.
- Document and label all outgoing products according to company standards.
- Manage the Return to Vendor (RTV) process.
- Inspect received merchandise for damage or discrepancies and report to management.
- Assist in training and developing team members as necessary.
- Secure all assets and physical inventory, adhering to loss prevention and key control protocols.
- Operate mobile equipment such as front loaders and forklifts as required.
- Strictly follow health and safety policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to engage with drivers and customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Capacity to work independently and seek assistance when needed.
- Attention to detail is essential.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, with strong mathematical skills.
- Three years of experience operating a forklift.
Preferred Education / Experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Physical Job Demands
Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs, work in extreme temperatures, stand for extended periods, and operate hand and power tools. The role may involve exposure to loud noise levels and a work environment with dirt, grease, and dust. Manual dexterity is required to operate specialized equipment, and clear communication is necessary.
Working Conditions
Standard working hours are Monday through Friday during the day shift.
