Job Overview

The Senior Vice President of Power Infrastructure will hold pivotal executive leadership responsibilities over the Power Infrastructure division, encompassing various operational sectors within the Power Technical Services (PTS) business unit, which includes Substation Engineering and Transmission & Distribution Engineering (T&D) teams. This role is integral to the Ulteig Leadership Team (ULT) and reports directly to the Senior Vice President of PTS.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Organizational Performance

  • Drive the execution of Ulteig's Strategic Plan, influencing the strategic direction of the PTS business unit.
  • Collaborate with PTS departments to establish annual performance targets aligned with Ulteig's Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Provide oversight to operational departments, ensuring accountability for results and timely delivery.
  • Engage proactively with clients, Lifeline Sectors, and the communities served, providing thought leadership.
  • Support the Client Solutions team by fostering and maintaining executive-level relationships with key clients.
  • Ensure effective leadership is in place, investing in development to support succession planning and business excellence.
  • Manage the performance of direct reports, promoting a culture of accountability.
  • Collaborate with CXO and Executive Management Team (EMT) members on strategic initiatives.
  • Utilize market and industry insights to drive innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring long-term success.
  • Lead and sponsor key initiatives and priorities as outlined in the Strategic Plan.
  • Assist the SVP-PTS with merger & acquisition (M&A) and strategic partnership activities as required.

People Leadership

  • Communicate key messages effectively with Power Infrastructure leaders and staff.
  • Ensure that essential communications from Ulteig leadership are disseminated appropriately within PTS.
  • Commit to fostering a safe working environment for all employees and stakeholders.
  • Act as a role model for Ulteig's Core Values, promoting an ownership culture that emphasizes inclusion, growth, and engagement.
  • Provide mentorship and development opportunities for direct reports, ensuring optimal performance and leadership succession.

Business Processes

  • Establish guiding principles and policies to direct business operations.
  • Encourage a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Support enterprise risk management initiatives, including Safety and Quality Management programs.

Scope of Role

  • Lead the PTS staff, including Directors of the Power Infrastructure departments.
  • Oversee strategic leadership, coordination of activities, and administrative management with capital budget responsibilities.
  • Report directly to the SVP-PTS and collaborate with CXO and EMT members on executing the company's strategic objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and a master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience; 15+ years preferred in engineering consulting or related fields.
  • At least five years of experience leading functional groups or multiple technical teams with a proven track record in employee development and performance management.
  • Strong background in business planning and organizational management.
  • Authorization to work permanently in the US is required.
