Nursing Specialist Job Description

MLee Healthcare Staffing and Recruiting, Inc is seeking a skilled Nursing Specialist to join our team at a reputable acute-care hospital near Abilene, Texas.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Specialist to provide high-quality patient care and support our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients and engage in discussions about their health concerns to identify their needs.
  • Record medical histories and current health conditions, including any symptoms, and prepare patients for tests and treatments.
  • Administer medications and treatments while closely monitoring for side effects or reactions.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and revise patient care plans.
  • Perform wound care, including the cleaning and dressing of wounds.
  • Assist healthcare professionals during procedures as required.
  • Operate and maintain medical equipment to ensure it functions correctly.
  • Collect samples, such as blood and urine, for laboratory testing.
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans and address any questions or concerns.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and students, to ensure high-quality care.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • CPR-BCLS Certification.
  • ACLS certification within 6 months; NRP certification within 6 months.
