About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant/Secretary to join our team at Nuvance Health Med Practice PC. As a key member of our Behavioral Health department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the smooth daily operations of our practice.

Job Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and escort them to the clinical area, obtaining vital signs as required.
  • Register, update, and bill patient information, verifying demographic and insurance details.
  • Provide administrative support for patient care, including copying, dictation, chart preparation, filing, and organization.
  • Schedule appointments for patients, both in-office and with other physicians or testing facilities.
  • Maintain a clean and well-stocked examination area, ensuring timely patient flow.
  • Conduct in-office testing as directed by the physician and coordinate outside ancillary services when necessary.
  • Collect, prepare, and process specimens according to physician instructions.
  • Maintain inventory, ensure proper upkeep, cleaning, and testing of medical equipment and supplies, and log usage.
  • Adhere to compliance responsibilities related to the position and perform additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A minimum of one year's experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician.
  • Basic medical knowledge and terminology.
  • Ability to obtain accurate patient vital signs.
Working Conditions

This role requires:

  • Sedentary/light physical effort with occasional manual skills/motor coordination and finger dexterity.
  • Little to no potential for occupational risk.
  • Generally pleasant working conditions.
Compensation and Benefits
