About the Job
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Desert Valley Hospital.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in acute care and the ability to work collaboratively with our board-certified physicians to provide exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert care to patients by incorporating independent decision-making abilities and collaboration with physicians.
- Promote and maintain patient health by providing medical services under the supervision of a supervising physician.
- Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing comprehensive physical examinations, and compiling patient medical data.
- Develop effective, safe, and patient-centered treatment plans under protocol.
- Provide timely and complete clinical documentation in the EHR following patient visits or telephone calls.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the supervising physician regarding assigned patients and provide timely notification of changes in patient status.
- Partner with patients to develop contracts of care as needed and provide encouragement and motivational support to promote adherence to treatment plans.
- Perform other duties as determined collaboratively by the Supervising Physicians that are within the scope of practice of a Nurse Practitioner and the health care institution's policies.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the Board of Registered Nursing.
- MSN Degree Required.
- Current unrestricted Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license issued by the State of California.
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certificate or eligible to obtain.
- Furnishing number issued by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
- National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioner.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Minimum one year Nurse Practitioner experience.
