Memory System Designer

Job Summary: As a CPU Performance Architect at Apple, you will be responsible for analyzing single-threaded and multi-threaded workloads across existing and new product categories to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement. You will work closely with experienced CPU and SoC designers to define and optimize CPU and cache micro-architecture, and collaborate with the CPU architecture and performance team to maintain and improve the simulation environment.
">Main Responsibilities: Your primary responsibilities will include working with experienced CPU and SoC designers to define and optimize CPU and cache micro-architecture, identifying performance bottlenecks and evaluating ideas to address them, engaging with experienced CPU and SoC designers in micro-architecture and RTL to assess the feasibility of ideas through modeling, refining ideas and model correlation, seeding new ideas, and maintaining and improving the simulation environment.
">Requirements and Qualifications: To succeed in this role, you will need a BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science, knowledge of CPU and SOC architecture and micro-architecture, familiarity with performance simulation environments, and coding skills in C/C++ and scripting languages like Perl or Python. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of memory latency tolerance techniques, 15+ years of relevant industry experience, and a MS or PhD degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
