Position Summary: The Printing Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interprets job orders and configures machinery to meet specific customer requirements.
- Regularly inspects and monitors print quality to ensure compliance with standards.
- Maintains accurate documentation and records of production activities.
- Reports any quality issues to supervisory staff promptly.
- Operates machinery efficiently while minimizing waste and downtime.
- Completes all necessary preparations for the printing process.
- Secures approval from supervisors before commencing production.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment.
- Identifies and resolves mechanical or operational issues as they arise.
- Adheres to safety protocols and company policies at all times.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Demonstrates the ability to distinguish between various colors and shades.
Supervisory Duties: Oversees and coordinates the activities of support staff on the printing press.
Qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. Color differentiation skills are essential.
Education and Experience: A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Previous experience in printing is advantageous.
Physical Requirements: The role requires the ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive motions.
Work Environment: The position involves exposure to machinery and may require the use of personal protective equipment due to noise levels.
This position requires regular attendance and active participation in the operational activities of the company.
