About the Position

Navarro Research and Engineering Inc. is seeking a Senior Water Treatment Specialist to join our team in Las Cruces, NM.

We are an award-winning federal contractor dedicated to partnering with clients to advance clean energy and deliver effective solutions for complex challenges in the nuclear and environmental fields. Our team is committed to quality and safety while also looking for innovative strategies to create value for our clients' success.

This position will support work at the NASA White Sands Test Facility (WSTF), where we operate and maintain two groundwater extraction and treatment systems to address ongoing environmental remediation work. The successful candidate will develop and design hardware and software updates and upgrades for the two remediation systems, working closely with our team of engineers and technicians.

The ideal candidate will have experience with the operation and maintenance of groundwater treatment process equipment, including air strippers and ultraviolet photolysis reactors. They will also be familiar with Rockwell Automation, Inc. FactoryTalk industrial controls automation software and general working knowledge of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and industrial control system communication protocols.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Designing and developing hardware and software updates and upgrades for the two remediation systems
  • Working closely with our team of engineers and technicians to implement new designs and technologies
  • Supporting treatment system maintenance and troubleshooting activities
  • Preparing and presenting engineering design project reports
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field
  • A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in scientific, regulatory, environmental consulting, contracting, or related industry
  • Must have a current valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
