Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lab Technician to join our team at American Castings Co. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Spectrometer equipment to analyze iron grades and ensure they meet specifications
  • Provide furnace chargebacks for production and conversion to and from gray iron
  • Check chemistries on all iron grades to ensure they are within specification
  • Perform line tech duties as needed, including receiving steel deliveries and inspecting test bars
  • Keep all samples properly marked and correctly placed in racks
  • Operate mobile equipment when required
Requirements
  • Thorough understanding of laboratory record keeping and reporting requirements
  • Ability to receive training to perform all sand lab tests and lab tests in the lab
  • Knowledge of safety rules that apply to the safety of others and to personal safety
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
