Academic Instructor

We are seeking a qualified Academic Instructor to join our team at University College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching one of our courses, assisting first-year students in their academic journey, and providing guidance on key factors that impact their transition and success in college and beyond.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in training and bi-weekly instructor meetings
- Meet weekly with peer instructor to plan course content
- Hold office hours each week to support students
- Attend each class session and communicate regularly with program coordinator, peer instructor, and associate director
- Bachelor's degree
- Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills
- Ability and experience working with diverse populations of college-age students and peers
- Working knowledge of basic office technology (Office 365, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience in working with college-age students, faculty, and departmental staff
- Strong knowledge of the university campus, including culture, resources, and disciplines
- State law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in English as a requirement for this position
- Master's Degree
- College-level teaching or tutoring experience
- Prior experience working with first-time-in-college (FTIC) students
- Employed by the university or previously employed by the university
- Understanding of the challenges facing college students today
