Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday; 6am-4pm, 7am-5pm, or 8am-6pm
Friday: 8am - 12 pm (half day)
Compensation: $116,000 - $122,000
Overview: This role is focused on evaluating and executing solutions for intricate technical challenges based on defined requirements. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively to deliver projects, innovate subsystem designs, and leverage technical expertise in documenting, designing, and developing gaming system applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and engage in the complete software development lifecycle, encompassing requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Assess hardware components to determine compatibility with existing systems, performance metrics, and features.
- Conduct moderate complexity analysis on programming challenges related to a subsystem or a collection of application programs.
- Collaborate with hardware design and development teams to integrate hardware components with operating systems, drivers, and application software.
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, documentation, and ongoing maintenance of the company's gaming software products. Make informed decisions regarding technology stack, frameworks, and overall system architecture.
- Transform designs into functional applications based on requirement specifications, system constraints, and coding standards.
- Review product and project requirements, providing technical insights on product definitions and project strategies.
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including functional specifications, design specifications, code documentation, and system architecture documentation.
- Analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in both production and non-production environments.
- Implement and promote best practices in testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing to ensure high software quality.
- Assist with final system integration testing, software quality assurance testing, and customer acceptance testing.
- Work with the QA team to identify, document, and resolve issues.
- Provide support for field installation and testing of equipment and software.
- Demonstrate effective delegation and time management skills.
- Ensure that software solutions comply with security best practices and identify potential security vulnerabilities.
- Identify and optimize code for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
- Engage closely with customers and internal teams to gather and analyze requirements for development purposes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work-related experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience in developing Java software applications.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working with Point of Sale hardware devices.
- Additional desirable skills include C and/or C++, Java JNI, and networking/communications. Experience in GUI design, multithreaded applications, and familiarity with both Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as Android systems.
Travel Requirements:
- Willingness to travel for potentially extended periods for customer site installations and support. Typical trips range from 1 to 3 weeks; however, occasionally, the duration may be longer.
