Position Overview
The Physical Therapist is accountable for the comprehensive management of patients receiving physical therapy services, under the guidance of the Rehabilitation Services Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to interpret findings and identify the extent of physical impairments. Set treatment objectives and develop tailored therapy plans to meet these goals.
- Treatment Implementation: Initiate discharge planning and execute the treatment regimen through direct patient interaction. Collaborate with supportive staff and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals as necessary. Provide education and support to patients and their families.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly evaluate clinical indicators to assess treatment effectiveness, patient progress, and the need for adjustments in therapy goals and methods.
- Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely records of patient management and demonstrate advancement towards professional practice standards.
- Job Description Review: Kaiser Permanente retains the right to periodically review and modify job descriptions, including changes to pay status, with appropriate notice to affected employees.
Qualifications
Experience: Not applicable.
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited physical therapy program with a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in physical therapy or an equivalent foreign qualification.
Licensure and Certification:
- California Physical Therapist License required upon hire.
- National Provider Identifier required upon hire.
- Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work effectively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
