Radiology Technician

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technician to join our team for a 13-week travel assignment in Portsmouth, VA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating CT scanners to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes, ensuring patient safety and image accuracy.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely diagnostic services.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CT scanners to produce cross-sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue for diagnostic purposes.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain imaging process, and position patients appropriately to ensure safety and image accuracy.
- Set technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology, providing high-quality images to radiologists for interpretation.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies to ensure patient and staff safety, perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CT equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately in the hospital's system, collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely diagnostic services.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
- The ability to read, write, & communicate in English.
- A valid Radiology license in compliance with state regulations, current BLS certification (AHA/ARC), and one year of recent experience as a CT Technologist.
- PREFERRED: Current ARRT Certification.
