Maintenance Director

Job Summary:
This role is responsible for leading the maintenance team and driving continuous improvement in maintenance safety, productivity, and equipment uptime. The successful candidate will develop and implement robust processes to sustain high-performance standards and ensure a high level of safety, facility production, and equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with plant process areas to facilitate maintenance work.
- Develop and recommend budgets for staff, technology, facilities, and equipment requirements.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis for equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot problem equipment and make decisions on repair or replacement.
- Approve Management of Change (MOC) requests.
- Design Predictive Maintenance (PM) programs to improve uptime and productivity.
- Identify and resolve repeat failure issues.
- Specify equipment for replacement or improvement.
- Coordinate turnarounds and manage unit spare parts inventory.
- Oversee internal and external contractors and improve maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Estimate and prepare ARs for capital projects.
- Develop and maintain maintenance procedures.
Requirements:
- Experience in leading safety initiatives and managing a team to high safety performance.
- Familiarity with mechanical hardware and/or packaging equipment or material handling equipment.
- Strong planning, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and prioritize responsibilities.
- Excellent written, reporting, and verbal communication skills.
Education/Experience:
- Preferred: BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum: 10 years' manufacturing experience, 5 years in a Chemical Manufacturing Environment, and 5 years managing a team.
