We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our 2nd shift nursing team. As a key member of our nursing department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with our veterinary team, and contributing to the overall success of our hospital.
Key Responsibilities:- Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases, and gather additional information as necessary.
- Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
- Partner with the patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication, and nursing care concerns.
- Provide client education, including home care instructions, medications, and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients.
- Assist the DVM with patient assessment, treatment, and procedures.
- Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
- Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
- Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing.
- State Registered Veterinary Technician license required.
- Prior veterinary experience required, previous nursing or critical care experience desired.
- Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.).
- Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
