Biomedical Equipment Specialist

This is a technical role that involves diagnosing, repairing, testing, calibrating, modifying, specifying, installing, and maintaining a variety of diagnostic, therapeutic, and analytic biomedical equipment and related workstations/computers, networks, and systems, as well as electro-mechanical equipment and systems. The successful candidate will work closely with various hospital staff to clarify the nature of equipment and system problems and projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and repair biomedical equipment and systems
* Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment
* Install and test new equipment and systems
* Collaborate with hospital staff to identify and resolve equipment and system issues
* Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and departments throughout the institution and with manufacturers, vendors, and other service organizations
Requirements
* Associate's degree in Biomedical Electronics Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Valid State of Maine driver's license
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
* Knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, electronics, workstations/computers, major communications protocols, and networking
