- Oversee daily operations of the manufacturing engineering team supporting various programs.
- Drive organizational goals and assist business unit clients.
- Accountable for project management, process evaluations, process enhancement initiatives, and supervision of manufacturing projects to support production activities.
- Set the overall pace for the engineering team and collaborate cross-functionally with other departments, including production engineering, operations, quality assurance, and production control.
- Manage departmental budgets and allocate resources to meet program requirements.
- Act as the representative for the Manufacturing Engineering team during audits and reviews, serving as the primary contact for any engineering-related issues or objectives.
A level 5 employee typically possesses significant professional experience.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience in aerospace manufacturing and/or production engineering, collaborating across various disciplines such as industrial engineering, planning, scheduling, quality assurance, production control, and technical operations.
- Proficient in developing and executing manufacturing strategies.
- Familiarity with engineering blueprints, producibility, GD&T, process specifications, and manufacturing planning.
- Experience in a comprehensive leadership role, demonstrating strong personal and interpersonal skills, effective communication, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
- Active security clearance required for application.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
Preferred Skills:
- Background in the production of advanced composites, structures, systems, and coatings.
- Experience in tool design and fabrication, vehicle assembly, and component manufacturing.
- Previous involvement with lean manufacturing, corrective actions, and process optimization.
- Knowledge of planning functions including Computer Aided Production Planning (CAPP) and Shop Order Maintenance (SOM).
- Familiarity with operations, planning, production control, MRP, quality, or systems integration.
- Experience with program startups and prototype development.
- Knowledge of facility layouts, capital equipment installation, and manufacturing area setup.

Compensation:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington, or Washington DC is $112,800 - $216,100.
