Automotive Repair Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Repair Specialist to join our team at Pruitt Ford. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for examining and diagnosing vehicles, discussing repairs with the shop foreman or service advisor, and communicating additional service requests to the service advisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine and diagnose vehicles to identify areas of repair
- Discuss repairs with the shop foreman or service advisor to determine the best course of action
- Communicate additional service requests to the service advisor to ensure timely completion of repairs
- Plan work in cooperation with the shop foreman to ensure efficient use of time and resources
- Provide labor estimates to the service advisor to ensure transparency and accuracy
- Monitor repair time and update the service advisor to ensure timely completion of repairs
- Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care and operation to ensure a positive customer experience
- Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs to ensure accurate record-keeping
- Assist in mentoring technician trainees to ensure the development of skilled technicians
- Attend company and factory training to stay up-to-date on the latest repair techniques and technologies
- Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations to ensure compliance and avoid fines
Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, as well as 1-3 months of related experience and/or training. Certificates, licenses, and registrations required include an Operator Driver's License and State Inspection License.
