Cornea Specialist

The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Missouri is in search of a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible Cornea Specialist to enhance our growing team. The selected candidate will be appointed as Assistant, Associate, or Professor on a non-tenure track basis.

Clinical responsibilities will be tailored to the candidate's expertise and are open to negotiation. The role includes significant involvement in the education of residents, fellows, and medical students, along with responsibilities for rotating call coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a collaborative environment with 12 ophthalmologists, 6 optometrists, and 16 residents.
  • Clinical duties are divided as follows:
    • 90% Clinical Practice
    • 10% Teaching, Education, and Administration
  • Outpatient Clinic Setup:
    • 3 Examination Rooms
    • 1 Medical Assistant/Technician
  • Engage in opportunities that contribute to departmental growth, the education of students, residents, and fellows, as well as involvement in research and scholarly activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Board certification or eligibility in ophthalmology with a focus on Cornea by the time of appointment.
