Position Overview:

At Vail Resorts, exceptional service is at the core of our mission, and our Food and Beverage team plays a vital role in delivering this experience. The Assistant Manager is essential to restaurant operations, assisting the Restaurant Manager in daily tasks that foster teamwork, quality, and safety, ensuring a remarkable dining experience for our patrons.

Position Details:

  • Expected Pay Range: Starting at $28.94, with adjustments based on experience.
  • Shift & Schedule: Full Time / Seasonal
  • Skill Level: Advanced

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address all guest needs in the restaurant, ensuring prompt, friendly, and courteous service.
  • Assist in managing dining operations and performance for both front and back of house, including staff training, scheduling, and direction.
  • Evaluate staff performance and behavior to provide constructive feedback and guidance, including recognition or corrective measures as necessary.
  • Support administrative tasks such as hiring, cash management, reservations, purchasing, inventory, and record-keeping; may act as manager in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
  • Uphold facility standards for food preparation, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Engage in leadership discussions to provide insights and suggestions on dining operations, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's or Culinary degree preferred.
  • ServSafe certification or regional equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of restaurant experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout a shift, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Fluency in English is required; bilingual candidates are preferred.

The anticipated pay range is $28.94. This range reflects the expected compensation for this role, with individual decisions based on various factors.
