S&ME is in search of a motivated and committed full-time Field Geologist to assist with drilling operations across various sites for our client in the southeastern region.
Role Overview:
As a Field Geologist, your primary responsibilities will include providing technical guidance and ensuring the successful execution of subsurface field investigations to support engineering site evaluations, environmental assessments, and foundation remediation projects.
- Oversee field activities related to monitoring well installation programs, foundation assessments, underground utility investigations, and similar projects;
- Conduct soil and rock logging;
- Generate professional logs documenting soil, rock, and monitoring well construction data;
- Manage drilling operations and related contractors in accordance with company protocols;
- Collaborate with various stakeholders and assist Drilling Services leadership and internal drilling teams to facilitate field investigations.
You will report to the designated office for scheduled projects and locations, with extensive travel required. Typically, you will travel directly to each site from your residence, and a company vehicle will be provided, with travel expenses covered.
Key Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related discipline;
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in geological, environmental, engineering, construction, or related fields;
- A Professional Geology license is advantageous.
