Job SummaryAs a Police Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing laws and regulations, responding to emergency calls, and providing assistance to the public. You will work closely with other law enforcement agencies and community members to prevent and investigate crimes.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect crime, and to enforce laws and regulations.
- Respond to emergency calls, such as disturbances, thefts, and accidents, and provide assistance to the public.
- Investigate crimes, gather evidence, and interview witnesses and suspects.
- Prepare reports and testify in court as needed.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community members to prevent and investigate crimes.
- Equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by 30 semester units or equivalent quarter units in administration of justice, law enforcement, or a closely related field.
- Valid California class C driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Valid basic certificate issued by the California State Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.).
As a Police Officer, you will work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to difficult circumstances, including exposure to dangerous situations, hazardous situations, and all weather conditions.
Physical DemandsYou must be able to maintain P.O.S.T. physical standards, including mobility and physical strength and stamina to respond to emergency situations and apprehend suspects.
