Valuations Specialist II

At Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing, we are seeking a highly skilled Valuations Specialist II to join our team. As a key member of our Default Support department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of valuation reports.
Key Responsibilities:- Initiate valuation orders through established vendors, utilizing complete and accurate information.
- Review returned valuation reports for accuracy and completeness, and initiate secondary review when necessary.
- Update files to ensure Shellpoint and investors have a clear understanding of collateral condition.
- Assist in controlling expenses related to valuation and preservation.
- Arrange for contractual services related to property inspections and appraisals.
- Resolve vendor holds or delays to ensure timely completion of values ordered.
- Ensure SMS compliance with ECOA requirements through delivery, reporting, and follow-up of applicable value reports.
- Manage relationships with and performance of appraisers and vendors.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the on-going improvement of the Default Support department through sharing ideas and improvements with the team.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2-4 years' experience in appraisals, mortgage industry, or real estate.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills via telephone and written communication.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skill.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.
- Basic understanding of mortgage lending and servicing.
- Strong negotiation and follow-up skills, as well as the ability to meet strict deadlines.
