Job Title: Valuations Specialist II

At Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing, we are seeking a highly skilled Valuations Specialist II to join our team. As a key member of our Default Support department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of valuation reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initiate valuation orders through established vendors, utilizing complete and accurate information.
  • Review returned valuation reports for accuracy and completeness, and initiate secondary review when necessary.
  • Update files to ensure Shellpoint and investors have a clear understanding of collateral condition.
  • Assist in controlling expenses related to valuation and preservation.
  • Arrange for contractual services related to property inspections and appraisals.
  • Resolve vendor holds or delays to ensure timely completion of values ordered.
  • Ensure SMS compliance with ECOA requirements through delivery, reporting, and follow-up of applicable value reports.
  • Manage relationships with and performance of appraisers and vendors.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the on-going improvement of the Default Support department through sharing ideas and improvements with the team.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years' experience in appraisals, mortgage industry, or real estate.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills via telephone and written communication.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skill.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.
  • Basic understanding of mortgage lending and servicing.
  • Strong negotiation and follow-up skills, as well as the ability to meet strict deadlines.
