As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide structure and emotional support, assist with daily living tasks, and help resolve behavioral issues.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality care and support. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to program participants in a residential setting.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
  • Help resolve behavioral issues and promote positive behaviors.
  • Transport program participants to and from medical appointments and recreation activities.

Requirements:

  • Clean, valid New York State driver's license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some experience working with intellectually and developmentally disabled populations preferred; training provided.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain AMAP and SCIP certifications.
  • Prior experience as a caregiver, care assistant, personal assistant, resident assistant, direct care worker, nursing assistant, home care aide, or companion is an asset.
