CRNA | Anesthesiology Specialist

UAB Medical West is seeking a highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our Anesthesiology team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of adult and pediatric anesthesia, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

* Provide anesthesia services to patients as ordered by Medical Staff
* Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of adult and pediatric anesthesia and its components
* Administer anesthesia and analgesia in a safe and effective manner
* Maintain and care for equipment and supplies used within the department
* Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of infection control policies and procedures
* Maintain professional competency and expertise through participation in and attendance of professional meetings, hospital staff development programs, and continuing education courses
* Conduct pre-operative evaluations and post-operative visits as directed in the policy and procedure manual
* Provide necessary follow-up for any anesthesia-related complication
* Maintain accurate and proper records for controlled substances

Requirements:

* Must be licensed as a Certified Registered Nurse of Anesthesia (CRNA) with the Alabama State Board of Nursing
* Current certification issued by the National Board of Certification (NBCRNA)
* Current American Heart Association approved certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS
