Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Repairer to join our team at the State of Iowa. As a Maintenance Repairer, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on state facilities, ensuring they operate at peak efficiency. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular checks and maintenance on boilers, centralized cooling systems, and auxiliary systems according to manufacturer's specifications and industry best practices.
  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes and fixtures for water distribution and wastewater disposal.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain air conditioning, heating distribution, and refrigeration systems.
  • Repair and install standard electrical components, including motors, lighting units, switches, and wiring.
  • Clear snow from walkways, parking lots, and drives using shovels, plows, snow blowers, and other equipment.
Requirements
  • Three years of full-time work experience in two or more of the recognized building and mechanical trades.
  • Practical experience in maintenance and repair tasks, with proficiency in plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, and general facility upkeep.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and address issues efficiently.
