About the Role:
Zions Bancorporation, a leading financial services company, is seeking an experienced Consumer Loan Specialist to join our team at the Zions Technology Center. This position is eligible to work from home with a Hybrid work schedule (subject to periodic review).
The Consumer Special Assets Group (CSAG) was formed to proactively manage problem credit and develop win-win solutions for borrowers experiencing financial difficulty. Our mission is to rehabilitate rather than liquidate, focusing on loss mitigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, loan workout, and loss recovery functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the workout of adversely graded loans through debt restructuring, negotiation of settlement agreements, pursuit of legal action, and/or collateral liquidation.
- Secures collateral, equity, or assets to preserve loan principal, prevent non-accrual, and limit losses.
- Liquidates real estate or other assets as necessary.
- Reviews lender liability issues to avoid lawsuits and control legal expenses.
- Develops relationships with internal and external industry contacts.
- Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
- May provide assistance to less experienced Workout Officers.
- Provides periodic reporting to management on portfolio status, loss potential, and future trend analysis.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of consumer lending, lending law, bankruptcy law, and cash flow analysis.
- Working knowledge of collection processes and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analysis, negotiation, and problem resolution skills.
- Strong word processing and computer-based skills.
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
- 2-4+ years of consumer collections/workout, lending laws, credit analysis, lending, or other directly related experience.
