Job Summary

This position requires a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide critical care services to patients in various settings. The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical ventilation, arterial blood gas analysis, and other advanced respiratory care procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilators as ordered
  • Evaluate therapeutic objectives and outcomes
  • Transcribe verbal orders from physicians in the medical record
  • Perform arterial puncture, blood gas analysis, co-oximetry, and other basic pulmonary function testing
  • Assist with the transportation of mechanically ventilated patients to other patient care areas
  • Perform routine respiratory care treatments and oxygen administration in adult, pediatric, and neonatal areas
  • Collect soiled equipment from patient areas, transport to CV Respiratory Therapy department or appropriate cleaning area, and clean, disinfect, sterilize, and package respiratory care equipment as needed
Requirements
  • Graduate of a 2-year AMA-approved Respiratory Care program
  • Less than 10 months experience as a Respiratory Therapist
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
