About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team at Amedisys, Inc. as a Hospice Caregiver. As a CNA, you will provide personal care services to patients in their homes, promoting their comfort, dignity, and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care services to patients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist patients with prescribed exercises and activities to maintain their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals, assist with feeding, and perform homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
  • Observe, report, and document any changes in patient status, and follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse.
  • Perform and record simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin, and assist patients with prescribed medications.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
  • CNA experience within the last two years, or completion of another training and competency program before providing services.
  • Current CPR certification.
