We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team at FastLane Recruitment Group. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles, including trucks, buses, and construction equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues, including engine problems, transmission issues, and electrical system malfunctions.
  • Operate and document a preventive maintenance program, keeping detailed records of all work performed on vehicles and equipment.
  • Repair and maintain power equipment and tools, such as compressors, jackhammers, and mowers.
  • Order and manage parts inventory, prepare and maintain repair records, and assist in developing vehicle specifications.
  • Operate vehicles for snow removal and sanding during winter, plowing, and perform emergency highway operations as needed.
  • Ensure safe practices in vehicle servicing, maintain a daily log of activities, and update the DPW Computer Maintenance and Management System.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma with additional technical or vocational training in mechanics.
  • 5 years of experience in gas, diesel, and hydraulic repair work; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid CDL B license with airbrake endorsement preferred.
  • Valid Hoisting license preferred.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing motor vehicles, operating heavy equipment, and using mechanic's tools.
  • Ability to lift/move objects, climb ladders, and operate tools and vehicles for extended periods, especially during snow emergencies.
