**About the Opportunity**

The City of Hampton, VA is seeking a highly skilled Paralegal Liaison Specialist to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in providing support to our professional legal staff and contributes to the success of our Commonwealth's Attorney's Office.

About You

We are looking for an experienced paralegal with a strong background in criminal law. As a Paralegal Liaison Specialist, you will be responsible for organizing litigation files, reviewing and preparing transactional records, drafting routine legal documents, and providing support from initial receipt of arrest warrants through discovery and trial.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,132 - $49,645 per annum, depending on experience. Requirements

  • Completion of a paralegal program recognized by the American Bar Association or graduation from a college or university with a related Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of two years of full-time equivalent paralegal work or closely related experience.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
  • Must successfully pass a background check related to this position prior to any offer of employment or promotion.

Work Environment

This position does not have remote work or telework options. The incumbent may be considered 'essential personnel' during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager, which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
