Clinical Psychologist

AvaMed Workforce is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at a correctional facility in Stockton, CA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Consult with supervisors, treatment team members, and CDCR institutional healthcare personnel to develop effective treatment plans.
- Document all care provided to inmates, including face-to-face contacts and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IOTT) meetings.
- Monitor inmate progress using CDCR Mental Health approved documentation formatting for progress notes.
- Apply community standards of practice for non-medical treatment modalities and ethical standards.
- Perform mental status exams (MSE) in face-to-face clinical interviews.
- Examine prior mental health records, institutional chromos, probation reports, and court records to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Conduct mental health education and develop resources for mentally ill and sex offender patients.
- Assist patients in applying for entitlement benefits (SSI), community programs, and services.
- Facilitate patient transitions between settings within the institution.
- Perform pre-release functions, including patient education and transition to county mental health and community mental health treatment programs.
- Participate in IDTT meetings and compile data from audits pertaining to mental health program requirements.
- Provide written reports and consult with the Board of Prison Hearings and other CDCR staff.
- Develop a therapeutic relationship with patients, families, and caregivers to enhance effective treatment delivery.
- Represent the Department at formal and informal settings regarding mental health matters.
- Protect and maintain safety and security of property, including documentation of unusual occurrences and inventory control of psychological testing material.
Requirements:
- Must have a Psychologist license by the California State Board of Psychology.
