Responsibilities
  • Greets patients and obtains required information for registration, including verifying insurance and collecting co-pays and outstanding balances.
  • Updates patient demographic information and company information.
  • Answers phone calls and schedules appointments.
  • Directs and documents patient calls as necessary.
  • Coordinates scheduling of outside testing for patients.
  • Serves as liaison between patient and practice.
  • Provides backup for scheduling appointments.
  • Ensures daily work contributes to an environment of patient safety and confidentiality.
  • Completes daily reconciliation report to ensure charges are accurate.
  • Pulls charts and readies them for next day appointments; files completed patient charts daily.
  • Liaisons with company representatives or potential employees to ensure correct services are provided.
  • Reviews Epic chart prior to patient appointments to ensure consents are up-to-date and insurance cards are current.
  • Responds to medical record requests from patients, insurance companies, physician offices, subpoenas, and legal requests per protocol.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical office coding experience and previous physician office or customer service experience preferred.
