Responsibilities- Greets patients and obtains required information for registration, including verifying insurance and collecting co-pays and outstanding balances.
- Updates patient demographic information and company information.
- Answers phone calls and schedules appointments.
- Directs and documents patient calls as necessary.
- Coordinates scheduling of outside testing for patients.
- Serves as liaison between patient and practice.
- Provides backup for scheduling appointments.
- Ensures daily work contributes to an environment of patient safety and confidentiality.
- Completes daily reconciliation report to ensure charges are accurate.
- Pulls charts and readies them for next day appointments; files completed patient charts daily.
- Liaisons with company representatives or potential employees to ensure correct services are provided.
- Reviews Epic chart prior to patient appointments to ensure consents are up-to-date and insurance cards are current.
- Responds to medical record requests from patients, insurance companies, physician offices, subpoenas, and legal requests per protocol.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical office coding experience and previous physician office or customer service experience preferred.
