Position OverviewOBJECTIVE AND SCOPE:
The teaching faculty are responsible for delivering educational activities and support that lead to the accomplishment of course objectives and enhance the educational environment of the college and its community. The faculty member's role encompasses learning facilitation, professional growth, and service to the institution. Key responsibilities include planning, developing, and delivering courses in a manner that promotes student learning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instructs Mathematics courses at various times and locations based on institutional requirements.
- Continuously seeks to enhance instructional quality by exploring and implementing innovative teaching methodologies and techniques.
- Creates and utilizes a syllabus for each course or laboratory in accordance with college and departmental standards.
- Designs and employs diverse teaching methods and materials that assist students in achieving course objectives, catering to varied educational backgrounds and learning styles.
- Assesses student progress towards course objectives and provides timely feedback on their performance.
- Completes necessary college reports and documentation.
- Reviews and recommends educational materials for student learning.
- Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the broader community.
- Ensures accessibility for students through scheduled office hours and electronic communication.
- Engages in professional development and institutional service as agreed upon with the Dean.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Expertise in course content.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to appreciate diverse perspectives and work effectively with a wide range of individuals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- The role is primarily sedentary, with occasional walking, standing, or light lifting of materials such as papers or books.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Utilizes standard office equipment and technology.
- Engages with internal and external contacts as necessary to fulfill job functions.
- Work is conducted in a controlled classroom or lab setting with minimal safety hazards.
- Hours may vary based on class schedules; instructors are expected to be present for all scheduled classes and available to students outside of instructional time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Master's degree in Mathematics or a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Mathematics or Statistics.
Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications. The salary offer will be determined based on relevant experience and educational background.
