Position Summary:
The Security Systems Installation Technician is essential in protecting properties and ensuring the safety of individuals by installing, maintaining, and servicing security alarm systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct regular maintenance inspections on alarm systems to verify proper functionality.
2. Identify and troubleshoot issues related to alarm systems, including wiring faults, sensor failures, and communication disruptions.
3. Repair or replace defective components as necessary to restore system performance.
4. Evaluate client requirements and suggest enhancements or expansions to current alarm systems to improve security measures.
5. Install additional sensors, cameras, or other devices to fulfill client specifications.
6. Integrate new components with existing alarm systems to ensure cohesive operation.
7. Engage with customers to ascertain their security needs and preferences.
8. Provide customers with guidance on the effective use and maintenance of their alarm systems.
9. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and service requests in a timely and professional manner.
10. Maintain detailed records of all installations, maintenance tasks, and repairs performed.
11. Generate service reports outlining completed work, parts utilized, and any recommendations for future actions.
12. Collaborate with management to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience or equivalent training is preferred.
- Proficiency in PC and network systems is essential.
- Strong attention to detail is necessary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
- Must pass drug screening and background checks.
- Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets insurance criteria.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to inspect buildings by climbing ladders, accessing attics or crawl spaces, kneeling, and crawling.
- Capability to install, test, and/or repair security materials.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Job Type: Full Time, non-exempt.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, with occasional Saturdays. On-call and overtime may be required.
