Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer with expertise in project management, design, and coordination of civil engineering tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical knowledge, analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to the team, ensuring high-quality design submissions and adherence to project requirements.
  • Project Management: Coordinate land development projects with clients, agencies, and staff, ensuring timely completion and effective communication.
  • Quality Control: Review and approve plan submissions, ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Client Management: Provide project management services to select clients, monitoring the entitlement process and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Technical Expertise: Read and interpret survey data, legal descriptions, government standards, and codes, and prepare site and subdivision plans for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
  • Collaboration: Assist clients with bonding and permitting procedures, and collaborate with other company departments on re-zonings, infill lot grading plans, and preliminary plats.
Requirements:
  • Technical Skills: Competent in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and proficient with various engineering programs such as HEC-RAS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, or similar programs necessary for project site design.
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industry Experience: Knowledge and experience of the land development and entitlement process for Northern Virginia jurisdictions.
