About The Role: Field Technician

The Robotics Hardware Service Specialist (RHSS) serves as Relay Robotics' response team in the field for hardware failures that may occur at client sites. This role involves on-site diagnostics and service, ensuring hardware failures are addressed and resolved within a safe and timely manner. RHSSs also assist with field projects and new robot deployments, maintaining our robots operating and clients happy.

Responsibilities:
  • Learn our robot hardware inside out to be comfortable servicing and maintaining our machines.
  • Communicate with technical and non-technical teammates regarding field repairs and projects.
  • Evaluate and resolve hardware failures on our robots within a safe and timely manner.
  • Occasionally assist with field operation projects and new robot deployments.
  • Be dispatched to client sites within your area to resolve hardware failures.
You're a great candidate if:
  • You're excited about robotics, artificial intelligence, and willing to learn.
  • You're familiar with hardware assembly and disassembly.
  • You have experience building or modifying computer hardware and small electronics.
  • You're an excellent communicator and comfortable collaborating on platforms like Slack, Google Meet/Hangouts, etc.
  • You're presentable and comfortable speaking to clients from Fortune 100 & 500 companies.
  • You love providing great customer service.
Bonus Skills:
  • Experience working with robotics.
  • Experience with Motion Control Sensing/PCBA Level troubleshooting.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Associate degree or higher.

Salary: $25-$50/hour

This is a 1099 contractor position at Relay Robotics. Onsite work pays one additional hour per site visited. Mileage reimbursement will be provided at standard rates, along with approved travel and job-related expenses.
