About You and This Role:

You will manage designated equipment or areas within the facility. You will execute and report on operational activities as outlined in the Operations Dashboard (OPD)-Tasks List. You will utilize discretionary time to foster sustainable performance outcomes for the site. Leveraging your operational knowledge and experience, you will proactively manage the plant in a safe, reliable, and optimal manner. Collaborating with your Shift Team, you will effectively anticipate and address unforeseen events, escalating issues that require additional support. You may also provide guidance to less experienced operators. Basic technical skills are necessary to carry out a variety of routine tasks using established processes and methods. Note: Operator Progression is overseen at the site level.

Responsibilities:

Adhere to Operating Discipline policies, principles, procedures, standards, and practices to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of assigned plant areas. Ensure that adequate operating discipline is maintained for all planned and unplanned activities. Operate and conduct field checks on process equipment. Monitor process conditions, key performance indicators, equipment, and control systems, making informed decisions to maintain or achieve desired operational rates and conditions aligned with Plant/Site/Business objectives. Complete scheduled operational tasks and address tasks arising from unplanned events. Collaborate with shift team members and other teams to share skills and knowledge, balancing workloads to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks. Conduct effective shift handovers, as defined in facility-specific operating discipline and tools, ensuring clear communication and transition to the incoming shift team. Maintain qualifications in assigned areas according to facility policy and complete training objectives promptly. This includes utilizing discretionary time to address skills and knowledge gaps. Mentor and train new and existing operations personnel on process management, troubleshooting, and the application of operating discipline in accordance with the plant's training process. Participate in Immediate Response activities as assigned. Initiate and document preliminary investigations following plant-specific processes/criteria and engage in formal and informal Root Cause Investigations for events you are involved in or requested to assist with. Monitor and utilize the plant's key performance metrics relevant to the Operating the Plant role to enhance operations and identify improvement opportunities. Apply process knowledge and skills to drive enhancements in plant performance and operating discipline. Proactively identify opportunities for improvement using facility improvement processes, appropriate management of change protocols, and communication tools. Execute Autonomous Maintenance, including minor repairs and preventative maintenance, in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, processes, and disciplines. Note: Subject to local agreements. Safely and efficiently perform all duties expected from the role while adhering to Dow's procedures and policies. Accurately fill product packaging components to the specified weight for each material, ensuring all labeling, documentation, and inventory counts are precise.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. At least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to work a 3 days on, 3 days off day/night schedule and flexibility with work assignments. Capability to perform minimal bending/crouching and lift items weighing up to 50lbs. A minimum requirement for this U.S.-based position is the legal ability to work in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.
