About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Vascular Sonographer to join our team. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging Department, you will be responsible for performing a comprehensive array of sophisticated abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and small parts procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and small parts procedures, to provide accurate diagnostic information.
  • Assist physicians during procedures, such as amniocentesis, thoracentesis, biopsies, cath lab procedures, surgery, thrombin injection, and compression for pseudoaneurysm.
  • Document patient history, images, and examination results for analysis and interpretation.
  • Participate in the department's QA program and accreditation process, ensuring technical competence and adherence to established protocols.
  • Ensure a secure and safe patient and work environment, adhering to infection control standards and OSHA guidelines.
  • Provide technical support for the smooth operation of the Ultrasound and Vascular Department, communicating effectively with other departments and team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest ultrasound developments, professional development, and maintenance of CMEs required for registration and training of associates.
Requirements
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 3 months.
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 3 months.
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 3 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months.
