Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality echocardiograms to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely results
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of echocardiogram procedures and protocols
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in cardiovascular imaging and technology
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes

Requirements

  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Two-year allied health education program in patient care-related field (e.g., diagnostic medical sonography, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or registered nursing)
  • Certifications/Licenses
    • A.R.D.M.S./CCI registration or registry eligibility
    • BLS certification from the American Heart Association within six months of hire
  • Skills
    • Effective communication and organizational skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse healthcare teams
    • Manual dexterity and ability to work at a rapid pace under stressful conditions
  • Experience
    • Two years of actively performing echocardiograms preferred

Working Conditions

  • May be exposed to physical injury, infectious diseases, and airborne and blood-borne pathogens
  • Requires knowledge of safety standards to limit exposure to infectious diseases

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting patients, pushing heavy equipment, beds, and carts
